Week of the Young Child

The Week of the Young Child® is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world's largest early childhood education association. 

The purpose of the Week of the Young Child® is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

BECC has partnered with 8 local Bemidji organizations to bring fun activities or events for young children and their families throughout the week of April 1st-7th! We are grateful for our community organizations and businesses that recognize the importance of the early childhood years and promotes healthy development through recreational activities and programs! 

We encourage everyone to thank those in your life that support early childhood this week! Whether that be parents, child care professionals, early childhood educators, home visitors, early childhood mental health professionals, medical professionals, social workers, and more let themd know what a wonderful job they are doing during the most important years of child development! 

We also encourage families to create their own fun with their young children this week following ideas from our themed days: Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Work Together Wednesday, Artsy Thursday, and Family Friday.
