About the Event

Do you struggle with making decisions about how much screen time to allow for your child? Are you seeing negative behaviors associated with your child using a tablet or phone? Do you have questions about how much screen time is okay for your child and what kind of content they should be using? Sign up for our free workshop!

The youngest among us are no strangers to digital technology. Yet families are inundated with conflicting advice about screen time. In this workshop, Erin Walsh will cut through conflicting information and translate the latest research for families with young children. Using stories, warmth, and humor Erin will share ways that technology can both help and hurt children’s learning and development and explore practical strategies for helping young children thrive in a world dominated by screens.

Erin Walsh is a parent, speaker, educator, and writer. She has worked with communities across the country who want to better understand child and adolescent development and cut through conflicting information about kids and technology. Her work has been featured in local publications across the country as well as The Washington Post, Parents.com, PBS Kids for Parents, and Yahoo News. Her signature down-to-earth approach and sense of humor helps families and educators engage in complicated topics and leave feeling capable and motivated.

This event is free and there is free child care available for children ages 16 months and older provided by Pine Pals staff. Registration is required for the event. All adults must complete registration form. If you need child care you must complete registration form and answer all questions ahead of time.
